What kind of beer tours do you offer?

New England Brewery Tours offer three types of tours.

  • A Daily Tour is offered Tuesday through Saturday and you will join other beer lovers to see some of Boston’s best breweries.
  • Private Tours where you can plan your own brewery adventure for a group from 1 to 100
  • Corporate Events where your company can do some great team building exercises or as a reward for a job well done

All of our tours includes tours and tastings at the best breweries in the Greater Boston area. To learn more about the different tours and to select which one is best for you, visit our Daily Tours page, our Private Tours page, our Corporate Events page, or Contact Us.

What breweries will I visit?

Our tours vary on a day-to-day basis, so the breweries that we visit changes daily.  New England Brewery Tours is very particular about which breweries we will visit, so every brewery that we visit will offer both great beer and a great experience with a unique perspective! The places that we currently are visiting on a regular basis include:

Because these are working Breweries, availability often varies and will determine where we stop.

Do I need to be a beer expert?

No! Here at New England Brewery Tours, we love beer, and this is meant to be a learning experience! One of the main concepts of our beer tours is for you to deepen your knowledge about beer and Boston’s beer regions, but the primary focus is that we want you to have a fun day! Whether you are a complete novice, or an avid consumer, our very knowledgeable guides will happily adapt to your needs, discuss beer making in general as well as more in-depth concepts. Whatever your level of understanding, you will come out with more knowledge than before, and more importantly have had a great day out.

Are there a lot of people on the tours?

Daily tours are capped at a maximum of 12, ensuring an intimate experience. At most breweries we have private visits and tastings, so keeping the groups small creates a very personal experience. For private tours and corporate events, we can accommodate all sizes and will create an itinerary that works best for the size of your group.

Can I book for only one person?

We guarantee that our tours will go out, assuming we have a minimum of two people. If you are an individual wishing to go, please contact us, and we will arrange a tour when we already have others booked to go.  Similarly, if you are a group, but you wish to pay individually, please contact us and we will arrange for your payment. This is not a problem.

How do you choose which breweries to go to?

The craft beer industry in Boston and in New England has experienced incredible growth in recent years and has changed dramatically. There has been an explosion of micro-breweries and nano-breweries that are producing excellent beers. At New England Brewery Tours, we want to show you the best this region has to offer.

We choose the breweries based primarily on the quality of the beer they make and the service they provide. We then design itineraries that include breweries which together offer a contrast of style and flavors. We therefore ask you to trust our brewery choices and allow us to build the best possible itinerary according to our daily experience!

What costs are not included in the price of the tour?

Our tour prices include just about everything. The transportation, a 4-course meal beer pairing (including tax and tip), and all of the brewery tours and tastings are included in the cost.

If you wish to purchase any beer at the breweries or purchase anything additional at lunch, those would be additional charges. Also, you may wish to tip your New England Brewery Tours guide. Of course if, and how much, you tip is completely up to you!

How many beers will I taste?

On our daily tours, you will visit 3 breweries and will taste 3-6 beers at each brewery. In addition to this, your 4 course lunch will be paired with 4 different beers.

Can I buy beer at the breweries?

At most of the breweries, you have the opportunity to buy beer after the tasting, but there is no obligation to do so.

What days do you run tours?

Our daily tours are offered Tuesday – SaturdayPrivate tours and corporate events can be scheduled 7 days a week.

What kind of transportation is provided?

Our daily tours are given in a high-end van. In the event that we are anticipating a small group, a smaller vehicle may be used, but you will only travel in vehicles that are spacious enough to comfortably accommodate the size of the group. All our vans have air conditioning and heating, meaning that you will have a pleasant trip regardless of the season. For Private Tours and Corporate Events, there are several options for vehicles which will be discussed when you contact us.

Where will you pick me up and drop me off?

At no additional charge to you, your New England Brewery Tours guide will pick you up and drop you off at whatever location you choose within a 5 mile radius of downtown Boston. If you are outside of this radius, transportation can be arranged at an additional charge.

Is there a lot of driving time in the tours?

The amount of driving time varies depending on the itinerary. Most itineraries require between 60-120 minutes in the vehicle, but at no time should you be in the vehicle for more than 45 minutes at a time (barring unusual traffic of course)!

How should I dress?

Attire is completely up to you! Casual clothing is recommended. Please bear in mind that we will be going behind the scenes of working breweries, and the floors can get dirty and slippery, so please wear sensible footwear.

Can you accommodate people with special dietary restrictions?<

Of course we can. All the restaurants and breweries we choose are very flexible and cater to practically all our requests. The only thing we ask you is to please let us know in advance.

Can I choose the breweries that I visit?

We work with a small number of breweries chosen for their high-quality beer, their uniqueness, and their friendly and personal service. As mentioned above, we ask you to trust our brewery choices and let us create the best itinerary for you. For our private tours, if there are certain breweries you would like to visit, and you book with enough time, we will try to integrate them into your personalized itinerary.

Can children participate on the beer tours?

To participate in any of the tastings, you need to be at least 21 years of age, and New England Brewery Tours does ID all participants, so please bring your ID with you.

For those with children or small infants, we recommend a private tour for your party, that way you don’t have to adjust to anyone’s itinerary or rhythm. Please contact us to coordinate.

Of course, each parent is the best judge of their children and can predict if they will enjoy a full day tour focused on beer.

I’ve been on a New England Brewery Tours before.  If I sign up for another, will I be seeing different breweries?

Our tours differ on a day-to-day basis, so chances are you would see different breweries than you did before. If you’d like to ensure that your experience is different, you can Contact Us, let us know which breweries you’ve visited before, and we can recommend a date for you to choose.
